Some Useful Keyboard Shortcuts

Access Keys

Most browsers support jumpting to specific links by typing keys defined on the web site.

On Windows browsers (MSIE4.0 or newer), instead of moving the mouse, set focus on a link or in a textbox by holding down the ALT key and pressing a letter (such as Alt+F for File from the menu).

On Macintosh, press Control plus the access key letter.

Here are the keys defined for this site:

These access key letters were selected to avoid taking over the grey-bar menus at the top of the browser: F, E, V, A, T, H, D (see next section below).

For example, I use the word "Comments" instead of "Feedback" because the letter "C" is available, but "F" is not.

With VNC, press F8 for the menu.

Mouse Keys Holding down CTRL while dragging a selected item copies that item. Holding down CTRL+Shift while dragging a selected item creates a shortcut to that item.
